KKK flyers have authorities on watch
It’s been more than a decade since the last Ku Klux Klan rally in Houston County. But the recent distribution of more than 40 KKK flyers has local authorities on the watch.
Houston County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Donald Valenza said there were 33 Ku Klux Klan flyers distributed to homes across Houston County over the past week. Valenza said there were reportedly 16 flyers distributed at homes in Gordon and 17 in Kinsey. Valenza said someone apparently threw a paper flyer wrapped around some gravel with a rubber band into the yard of area homes.
Dothan Police Sgt. Rachel David said the Dothan Police Department received eight similar reports from over the weekend of flyers which promoted the KKK. David said the flyers were considered hate crimes, and would be investigated by the FBI.
